The Brook Hotel

Rohrig has completed an enormous $20+ million project in Michelton, Brisbane, involving ground-up construction of Dan Murphy’s, the new Brook Hotel and attached 40-room Nightcap motel.

This 25,000m2 project was undertaken for long-term client, ALH Group, in what is their largest development to date. After working alongside ALH for so many years, we have an intimate understanding of how they work, which allowed for a seamless flow of stages for this landmark project.

Cayas & Ward undertook architecture and interior design for the benchmark development. The contemporary, high-end building designs are constructed around a 60-year-old fig tree with more than 7km of fairy lights illuminating the centrepiece.

This hotel sets a new standard for ALH, with an open-plan focus that blends the various areas together seamlessly, encouraging a heightened hospitality experience for patrons.

Works involved construction of the Dan Murphy’s retail store and partial demolition of the old pub, which was retained and kept open until the new Brook Hotel was ready to trade. Once the new venue was trading, we fully demolished the old building and continued to construct the 60-room hotel.

Construction included a mix of materials used across the gaming room, cold rooms, offices, kitchen, sports bar, main function room and bar, beer garden, terrace, kid’s room and bistro.

Our extensive hospitality expertise, top-tier staff and sub-contractors, and staging excellence helped deliver an exciting new venue for the local community.
