Hotel Grand Chancellor
Refurbishment and extension
This design and construct project transformed the outdated hotel into a vibrant CBD venue with new function centre and hotel rooms.
As well as being an opportunity for Rohrig to contribute to optimum space use for business effectiveness, this project was a demonstration of complex demolition and construction work on busy streets while the hotel continued to trade.
Existing function rooms were demolished down to podium level and a whole wing was reconstructed. In addition to the new function centre, there was a new lobby, a function kitchen and commercial tenancies on the ground level.
Rohrig worked on creating cutting edge design with architects Cottee Parker while value-engineering the project through the five stages of development from concept to completion.
