Hills International College, HPE Centre
Rohrig is excited to announce the completion of a new sports centre at Hills International College in Jimboomba, Queensland, as the prestigious school takes its rich sporting pedigree to the next level.
The new health and physical education (HPE) centre features five beach volleyball courts, covered multi-use courts, gymnasium, sports stage, spectator seating, change rooms and amenities. We also refurbished the school’s existing music centre, providing an acoustic haven for budding musicians.
Design of the new sports centre was undertaken by school architecture specialists, Novum, who created the new site with the aim of fostering healthy student activity, teamwork and sportsmanship.
We offered significant value engineering prior to commencing this project, ensuring maximum value, usability and longevity for the incredible new sports centre. As a result, the Rohrig team was even able to complete this project two weeks ahead of schedule!
This project presented unique challenges, including working in a live environment, multiple concurrent work fronts and the addition of a new two-kilometre fire ring main that will provide future protection for the 8000sqm site.
The new sports centre at Hills International College elevates the school’s ongoing commitment to sporting excellence, offering an inspiring backdrop for up and coming athletes.
