Flagship medical facility

Eyetech’s flagship consulting and surgical centre called for the demolition and refurbishment of two levels of the busy St Andrews Private Hospital. Because of the live hospital environment and needing access through a fertility clinic for some of the work, there were unusual constraints on noise, odours and dust. The logistics of getting materials in and out of the building were also a challenge.

The completed centre included offices, waiting areas, consulting rooms and two state-of-the-art operating theatres and recovery bays.

This guaranteed maximum price (GMP) project was the third Eyetech facility Rohrig constructed and we were able to give helpful guidance on best value approaches during the design phase.
