International Grammar School

The reimagining and re-creation of International Grammar School’s Centre for the Dramatic Arts and the Bibliotheque was an important project for the school and involved major refurbishment, an extension, a new façade and a rooftop conservatory.

Rohrig worked closely with the architects, BVN, to value-engineer the design with resilient products that would meet all specifications, saving more than $60,000.

The project had access challenges both at street level (requiring a traffic lane to be closed for craning materials up four storeys and through a small window) and confining certain works to school holiday times. As always, the work in a live school environment was completed under our stringent school safety policy.

The completed project gives the students vibrant, new, light-filled spaces to encourage them to explore and learn.
