Rohrig Wins High Growth Award at the 2026 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards
Rohrig has been named the winner of the High Growth Award at the 2026 Lord Mayor’s Business Awards, recognising the company’s sustained growth, strong leadership, and long-standing commitment to developing both projects and people.
The award marks a significant milestone in Rohrig’s 35-year history, celebrating a journey that began with six people operating from a garage in Carina and has grown into one of Queensland and New South Wales’s leading construction companies, employing more than 250 people.
Accepting the award on behalf of Rohrig, Head of Team Development Ben McCormack said the achievement belongs to the people who have built the business over the past three decades.
“While this award recognises growth, what we’re most proud of is how our people continue to grow,” Mr McCormack said.
“Thirty-five years ago, Rohrig was six people in a garage in Carina. Today, we’re a team of more than 250, but the real story behind this award is the people who have helped shape our business along the way.”
“Many of our leaders started their careers at Rohrig as trainees or cadets and have grown into senior leadership positions. That culture of investing in people, developing talent and creating opportunities continues to be one of our greatest strengths.”
Mr McCormack also acknowledged Rohrig’s clients, subcontractors and employees who have contributed to the company’s continued success.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our clients and subcontractors, some of whom have been with us since our earliest projects, and to every member of the Rohrig team who contributes to our success each day,” he said.
“Brisbane is where Rohrig was built, and we remain committed to building the projects and developing the people that will help shape our city for years to come.”
The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards celebrate businesses making a significant contribution to Brisbane’s economy and community, with the High Growth Award recognising organisations demonstrating exceptional and sustainable growth.
