Rohrig recently rejuvenated the Bracken Ridge Tavern in Brisbane’s northern suburbs, supporting the growing venue with a major two-stage refurbishment as it celebrates half-a-century in business.

KP Architects reimagined the Bracken Ridge Tavern, breathing new life into the venue with a fresh, modern design that centres around premium food and beverages in an inviting family-friendly environment.

The two-stage refurbishment includes a completely new layout with redesigned bars, a grand entrance, a gaming room, multiple dining areas, indoor and outdoor children’s areas, a garden terrace, and extension of the adjoining bottle shop.

Rohrig’s in-house food and beverage design team was heavily involved through the early stages of this project, working with the client to ensure the new layout maximised functionality and made efficient use of available space. This culminated in an on-site Augmented Reality (AR) experience, offering a virtual walk-through.

Works included a full internal reconfiguration of the existing venue, as well as the extension of the bottle shop. A staged programme was adopted, with multiple concurrent work fronts, to ensure minimal disruptions to trading. We also handed over new areas as soon as they were completed.

Our programme allowed for various wins, proving that a major refurbishment doesn’t have to result in trading losses. We delivered the gaming room in just seven days, using night works to significantly reduce downtime, and we also fast-tracked the kitchen works so that food service was only down for one day throughout the entire project. We also ensured the essential services were maintained from beginning to end.

We are proud to have rejuvenated the Bracken Ridge Tavern following its 50th birthday, taking the much-loved venue into the future.
