Club Kawana
Rohrig recently breathed new life into Club Kawana in Wurtulla, Queensland, taking the growing venue into the future with a major refurbishment.
This refurbishment was project managed by Project Urban, and Liife Architecture envisioned the revamped Club Kawana with a design that modernised the much-loved local venue while maintaining its inviting presence. Upgrades include a new kitchen, amenities and cafe, which were completed across three stages.
The Rohrig Team was involved early on, working with the client to add value through our design capabilities, which ensured staging, functionality and operations were optimised throughout the project.
Works commenced with the demolition of existing areas of the club, followed by the construction of the new kitchen, amenities and cafe, as well as the upgrading and future-proofing of infrastructure like the electrical boards.
A critical component of our staging plan was ensuring the venue remained operational throughout the project, which included installing a temporary cold room and freezer, allowing trading to continue across the multi-stage project. This provided the club with a smooth transition once the new, larger commercial kitchen was completed.
Our team also conducted works outside of the club’s peak trading times, which included night works to minimise disruption and ensure patrons could continue enjoying the venue. We also installed additional acoustic panels to the hoarding to reduce construction noise.
The Rohrig Team completed the handover ahead of schedule, allowing Club Kawana to embark on an exciting growth journey as it continues to offer locals a welcoming dining experience.
