Motorama Moorooka

These two new Toyota and Holden dealerships on one site on a busy Brisbane arterial road are also the Motorama Group’s head office and flagship showrooms.

The 2-storey state-of-the-art service centre with 30+ hoists and generous car-parking and storage required clearing the existing site and widening of Ipswich Road. On such a prominent and busy intersection, the interface was complex and required liaison with Department of Transport and Main Roads as well as constant management of noise and dust.

The poor ground conditions were stabilised using recycled concrete from the demolition.

The building, designed by W.I.M Architects, won a 2013 Brisbane Regional Commendation for Commercial Architecture and is now a familiar landmark. It is one of a number of Motorama dealerships constructed by Rohrig.
