Works commenced with the demolition of existing sections of the club, paving the way for the construction of the new facilities. Beyond the upgrades, the project also involved essential future-proofing of infrastructure, including upgrades to electrical boards to support the venue’s future plans.
The Rohrig Team carefully staged works outside of busy trading periods and installed a temporary cold room and freezer. This allowed the club to continue serving meals throughout the multi-stage build, ensuring a smooth transition once the new, larger commercial kitchen was completed.
“Keeping a commercial kitchen operational during a major renovation requires careful planning, but it’s something we aim to do when undertaking work at live venues like this one,” said Rohrig Construction Manager, Steve Hastie.
“Our priority was to ensure the patron experience wasn’t compromised. We scheduled significant works at night to avoid disruptions and installed additional acoustic panels on the hoarding to reduce noise levels.”
The Rohrig team is proud to have completed the handover ahead of schedule, allowing Club Kawana to embark on its exciting new chapter. The venue now stands ready to offer locals an elevated dining and social experience, with improved facilities built to last.
