Rain Garden Inspection with Ascham School 🌱💧
Recently, the Rohrig Team hosted Ascham School’s Year 12 Sustainability Committee, along with the Junior School Environment and STEAM Prefects, for an on-site inspection of one of the rain gardens under construction, as part of the Fiona Redevelopment.
The Rohrig project team together with representatives from EPM Projects, BVN Architecture, and landscape architects, 360 Degrees, we explored the purpose and design of the rain garden, while answering insightful questions from the students.
A rain garden is a vegetated sand filter that captures and treats stormwater runoff—preventing excess nutrients, rubbish, and sediment from reaching and polluting local waterways. Once completed, this area will form part of the beautiful landscaping linking the Fiona Building to the wider campus, while quietly playing a vital role in sustainability and water management.
It was fantastic to share this moment with the next generation of environmental leaders! ...
