Seamless refurbishment for Bracken Ridge Tavern
Rohrig has breathed new life into a Brisbane icon, delivering a major refurbishment of the Bracken Ridge Tavern in anticipation of its 50th anniversary. This two-stage refurbishment has completely reimagined the venue, blending a fresh, modern design with the tavern’s much-loved community feel.
Designed by KP Architects, the transformation centres around premium food and beverages in a family-friendly environment, reviving the Bracken Ridge Tavern as a premier north Brisbane destination.
The refurbishment incorporates a completely new layout featuring redesigned bars, a grand entrance, a new gaming room, function room, and sports bar, multiple dining areas, a garden terrace and extension of the adjoining bottle shop. Families are well catered for with a new indoor children’s playroom and an outdoor children’s area.
Rohrig’s involvement went far beyond construction for this project. Our in-house design team deployed Augmented Reality (AR) technology, facilitating a virtual on-site walk-through that allowed the client to experience the layout, ensuring the design suited their operational needs.
The true success of the project, however, was its seamless delivery within a live environment. Rohrig adopted a carefully-staged programme to ensure the venue remained operational throughout and new sections could be enjoyed the moment they were finished.
Proving that a major refurbishment doesn’t have to mean major trading losses, our team fast-tracked various key elements of this project. By utilising night works, we delivered the new gaming room in just five days, significantly reducing downtime. Even more impressively, we prioritised the new kitchen so that food service was only down for a single day across the entire project.
