Union Place Hotel

Fit-out of rebuilt tavern

When the old Jannali Hotel was demolished to make way for a new apartment block, it was fitting that the ground floor was dedicated to creating a new tavern. Expectations were high for the new venue and Rohrig worked with Paul Kelly Architecture to provide a distinctive space for locals.

Rohrig also did extensive value engineering and identified almost $300,000 savings in building the forecourt.

The project required a high level of collaboration with both the apartment-block builders and the client, as well as with the architects, who are renowned for their unconventional designs and features. Unusual tile patterns and the gaming room’s feature ceiling and gold columns were just some of the special effects.
