The Osbourne Hotel
Award-winning refurbishment and beer garden
The Osbourne in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley was built in 1864 and has found itself in one of the city’s lively urban renewal areas as the area has changed over recent years.
Rohrig’s refurbishment of what was the ‘Fringe Bar’ created a new whiskey bar, function rooms and beer garden.
Taking the pub into a new era involved a number of challenges including creating customised copper beer fonts in collaboration with the brewery, fitting air-conditioning in the old structure, managing deliveries on one of Brisbane’s busiest through-streets and craning a 5-metre feature tree into the beer garden.
Our full-size mock-up helped test bar and kitchen layouts in low head-height spaces.
