The Gibson

Rohrig recently refurbished the dormant Stafford Bowls Club, transforming the venue into a vibrant community club renamed The Gibson – paying homage to the surrounding Gibson Park precinct in Stafford.

After the club had been dormant since 2016, we rejuvenated the existing structure, maintaining its heritage while breathing new life into the venue with a new kitchen, dining area, sports bar, bowling green and landscaped outdoor area.

Importantly, the venue forms a natural extension of the existing Gibson Park precinct, with landscaping that complements the area and an outdoor club experience for locals to enjoy.

KP Architects designed the venue, maintaining the existing portal frame structure while integrating modern features like a like cewood panel ceiling, modern bistro and expansive outdoor entertainment area.

In order to maintain the existing structure, we 3D scanned the venue and integrated structural steel into the existing building. We also offered a full life-size mockup and AR walk-through, allowing the client to see and experience the design in real time.

We are excited to complete this welcoming community club, as the local icon returns to its former glory and commences its new life as The Gibson.
